Simple Things

I can’t believe my first nephew is already 6 years old (as of yesterday). I feel like

Luke has grown up way to fast but he is an amazing big brother and big cousin!

Happy Birthday Luke!

Who thinks it is easy to get a whole bunch of 6 and under kids in for one picture??img_0751

Giving Fall Some Color

Giving Fall Some Color

Hello Fall! It’s nice to see you again.

It is finally feeling like Fall this week and what better way to celebrate

with some new fun Fall fashion.

I have a new addiction and that is Tobi…..Tobi is a LA based online clothing store

and I’m in love.

I’m not one to post many pictures of myself wearing clothes but here we go!

I think I want to live in these harem pants by Tobi

They are SO comfortable and I want more pairs. The pants are currently unavailable

but we have a comparable pair that I’m loving as well.

these beauties are currently on sale for only $41 – use code SF50

Who says Fall clothes need to be dull? I love this sweater and the

vibrant color. It is very comfortable and VERY affordable.

You can Shop Tobi for this very same sweater!

or similar

Get 50% off both sweaters using code SF50 by tomorrow!

here is another close up of this sweater! My brother-in-law even

gave my compliments on the sweater!

Banana Bread

Banana Bread

If you follow  my Facebook Page this picture may look familiar from over the weekend.

I’ve been wanting to make banana bread for a few weeks now…I seriously hate

throwing away old and super ripe bananas. I also figured that Macklin would love it.

I wasn’t wrong either….he loves the bread!

This recipe is seriously so easy to make – forget about the boxed stuff…

do it the homemade way, you won’t regret it. It’s SOOO easy!

Prep Time
10 min
  1. 1 1/4 cups sugar
  2. 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  3. 2 eggs
  4. 1 1/2 cups mashed very ripe bananas (3 to 4 medium)
  5. 1/2 cup buttermilk (I used whole milk)
  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  7. 2 1/2 cups Gold Medalâ„¢ all-purpose flour
  8. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  9. 1 teaspoon salt
  10. 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired
  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans (8x4) or 1 loaf pan (9x3)
  2. Mix sugar and butter in large bowl. I used my stand mixer. Stir in eggs until well blended. Add bananas, buttermilk (or whole milk) and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  3. Next, stir in flour, baking soda and salt until just moistened. Stir in nuts if you are adding nuts. Pour into pans.
  4. Bake the 8 inch loaves for about an hour, add 15 minutes if you used the larger pan.
  5. Cool for about 10 minutes then allow the loaf to cool on a cooling rack for about an hour.
  6. Enjoy!
